A young modern family based in Belgravia, London, SW1 are looking for a new, long-term cook/housekeeper - who is specialised in Asian cuisine - to join their existing team of staff. This is an amazing salary position for a long-term and committed member of staff.
A large property of 6 floors, there are three children aged 1, 4 and 7, and a busy mother and father. They have a full team of staff - five in total, two nannies, a full time cook and a full time housekeeper. They also have a part time housekeeper. The full time cook is now very elderly and she is going to be decreasing her hours, and the family need a new valued member of the team to replace her. They treat their staff very well, and expect in return commitment and flexibility. They have no pets.
You will be responsible for all the cooking in the property. You should have good cooking skills but they do not expect fancy food. They do expect you to be able to make Salmon Teriyaki, Thai Curry, Stir Fries, Roast Chicken, with the focus on Asian cuisine which is healthy and varied. Breakfasts would include buckwheat pancakes, green smoothies and you can bake banana bread and other treats for the family. When not cooking, you'll be expected to manage the kitchen, keeping it clean and tidy, prepare inventory and stock for the kitchen, order food, and plan menus. If you have time outside of this then you'd be expected to keep the dining room to a high standard, cleaning it after food service. You should be child friendly, happy to be around a busy family. Your personality is key, to get on with the other staff and able to multi-task and stay calm under pressure! You will also be expected to serve drinks, opening the door and making refreshments for guests when they visit. A formal household you will given a uniform to wear on duty.
The family live in Belgravia, Central London, SW1. This is a live out role.
Monday to Friday 8am - 8pm with regular breaks. Two full weekends off each month, with two Saturdays worked each month. There is a rota, so occasionally you'll be asked to take days off during the week instead of at the weekend.
You must speak a good level of English.
You should be experienced cooking Asian cuisine.
