A lovely British family with 4 children are looking for a live in Property Guardians (ideally a couple) to be their property guardians in their large estate in Manchester. You should already have (full time/part time) jobs in the Manchester area as this job does not require more than 3-4 hours work per week.
Background
A lovely, fit and active family with the youngest child of 9 and the eldest of 17 – as well as one family dog. The family have relocated from Manchester to Jersey and their large Manchester estate is empty for most of the year. The property has two large two-bedroom cottages on the estate, and as the current security/guardian is moving on, they are looking for a couple to live on the estate and be in place for any upkeep and maintenance. The family will use the property 30-35 days per year, normally around the Christmas period, so for that period you should be there to open and prep the house, help the family out during their stay, and close everything again upon their departure.
Duties
Most of the year you will have this gorgeous estate for yourself – you will just need to keep the security up to date, receive parcels etc, and do regular check-ups in the house and the grounds. If anything needs updating you will call contractors for this, you don’t have to maintain anything yourself. There are gardeners doing the upkeep of the grounds. When the family is in residence (most likely over the Christmas period) you will both have to be there to open the house and get everything ready, and be at hand to help the family out or run errands. No active service is required but you might be asked to help out and be hands on whilst they’re in. Upon departure you will both close the house again and make sure everything is up to date.
Location
This is an outstanding, 10 acre estate near Manchester Airport. The property has two 2-bedroom cottages on the grounds, tennis courts, swimming pool, hot tub, quad bikes, and recording studios. Basic, simply furnished accommodation is provided.
Days/Hours
You will be living on the grounds and maintaining the property when you are there, realistically this will not be more than several hours per week maximum. When the family is in situ you will be expected to be more available and hands on.
Languages
You should speak a very good level of English.
Special Skills
You must already have a full time or part time role in the Manchester area, and be able to allocate the 30/35 days per year flexible work for when the family is in situ. Due to the principals requirements, the family are only considering couples with no children or pets. They require the couple to be in a strong, stable relationship as they would like a long term couple to live and work for them.
Package Offered
You will most of the year be living on a gorgeous large estate. Basic accommodation, simply furnished, and all cost related to that will be included, but they are open to the couple making their own mark on the living space. There is a possibility that larger living accommodation may be available in the future. You will receive a sum of £5000,- per year (for the couple) for your services.
