A lovely older lady based in Maida Vale, London, W9, is looking for a new part-time housekeeper to look help her look after her home. There is also the possibility of this becoming a full-time position. This is a live-out role.

Family Background
The lady lives in a beautiful large property in Maida Vale, with her youngest son aged 23 and two German Shephard dogs. Her other four children live close by and regularly visit with their own children. The home is often busy and bustling with family members. The lady is very active and often described as a ‘Super Woman’, though she also has an immune system condition that can flair up, causing pain and low mood. During these flair ups, she will require more support and assistance with her daily tasks
Duties
You should be an experienced housekeeper, able to carry out all general housekeeping tasks such as:
- Cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, stairways, and other household areas
- Looking after pets, the lady has two large, white, German Shepards.
- Polishing silverware, dishes, glass and other items that need to be cleaned but cannot be washed in a dishwasher
- Dusting shelves, blinds, baseboards, ceilings, windowsills, and other surfaces in the home
- Cleaning to the highest standard and ensuring the property is kept presentable is the primary role. After which you would be required to help with the laundry, including:
- Washing, steaming and ironing, organising and storing seasonal wardrobes
- Coordinating dry cleaning
- Maintaining clothing and linen inventory
- You will also be required to undertake occasional errands such as going to the chemist, post office and supermarket. As such a driving and having use of your own car would be beneficial.
The ideal candidate will be warm and friendly with good initiative, able to work independently and carry out tasks as needed once they become familiar with the property. Due to the lady’s immune system condition, there will be some caring aspects to the role, requiring a kind and patient approach to your work. On occasions when she is having a bad flair up, she may be unable to leave her bed or complete any of her daily tasks and will require assistance with errands and cooking, or letting in the gardener or dog walkers. You will be responsible for running the household and generally assisting in any way necessary during these times.
