Package Offered
- £16 - £18 gross per hour depending on experience

Family Background
This lovely family of three are looking for a positive and friendly housekeeper/nanny to join their household. This family consists of a busy mum with two children aged three and six years old. The six year old is autistic, he attends mainstream school and has a very curious mind with some sensory differences. He loves people and bonds well with people who engage with his interests and ideas. The three year old is in preschool part time and loves going swimming, to gymnastics, playing games, colouring, and animals. The family live in a beautiful two bedroom and two bathroom home on a small farm in rural Devon. You must be an animal lover for this role, as the family have dogs, cats, horses, and sheep who live on the farm. The mum’s parents live next door and see the family daily. They have a cleaner who visits once a week.
Duties
You will be responsible for helping the mum look after the children and the housekeeping. The family are looking for someone who would like a long term role. You should be a warm, friendly, and positive person who is happy to get involved in family life. This role will involve daily cleaning, laundry, vacuuming, dusting, changing beds, and maintaining a high standard of tidiness. They have a cleaner that visits once a week to do a deep clean.
You should be happy to have both sole and shared care of the two children, aiding the mum as needed. You will help with the school runs and take the children to any activities as needed. When the children return home from school/preschool, you would be responsible for helping the children with their homework, reading, and engaging in fun activities.
The successful candidate should be happy to cook for the children, they like to eat fresh and healthy meals - nothing gourmet! You will be required to run errands as required, such as trips to the pharmacy, post office, dry cleaners etc.
The family travel occasionally and would love it if you were able to travel with them, however, this isn’t a requirement. You should also be comfortable and happy with occasional overnight proxy parenting and happy to do additional babysitting when agreed in advance.
Location/Accommodation
The family are located near Exeter, Devon, EX5. This is a live in, live out, or flexi role depending on your preferences. If you choose to live out, you must be able to easily commute to the property. A self contained one bedroom fully furnished flat is available if needed.
Days/Hours
- Working 28 hours per week spread over 3 days
- Working from 7:30am to 7:30pm twice a week, with an hour lunch break each day
- Working one shorter shift each week from 8am to 2pm
- Working one weekend each month, to be agreed in advance. This will either be paid overtime or given as time in lieu.
Languages
You must speak a good level of English to communicate with the family.
Special Skills
You must have a driving licence for this role. If you are Ofsted registered or eligible, that would be an advantage. You should be willing to undertake a paediatric first aid course if you have not already. If you have a level 2 or above qualification in childcare this would be beneficial.
