A busy, friendly family of four near Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, CB1, are looking for a new part time housekeeper. This is a live-out role so you must be able to easily commute to the property.
Package Offered
- £18 - £22 gross per hour depending on experience
- Working from Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 8am – 1pm
Family Background
This role is to support a friendly family- the parents and two children aged three and a half and seven months. The dad is an entrepreneur and is in the process of building a new business, while the mother helps support a local independent fashion business. Family life is very busy and they are looking for an extra pair of hands to help lighten the load. Their lovely home has recently been renovated, it comprises of three bedrooms and three bathrooms over three floors and a kitchen extension. The family currently does not have any pets, but they are hoping to get a pet cat soon.
Duties
The family are looking for someone who is child friendly, flexible, and happy to be involved with the smooth functioning of family life. This role is focused on the daily and deep cleaning of the property. You should be happy to carry out all housekeeping tasks such as laundry, ironing, unpacking groceries, vacuuming, dusting, organising etc. The successful candidate should have a strong initiative and eye for detail. Generally ensuring the home is always clean and tidy, allowing the parents to enjoy their free time with their children.
You must be child friendly, happy to supervise the children and take them to and from nursery (a short distance from the property). You should be happy to entertain them on occasion, for example, playing with them, reading, going for walks, doing arts and crafts etc.
You should be happy to carry out simple DIY duties occasionally, such as painting, to assist with the interior design of the property. It would also be helpful for you to assist with some gardening duties.
The successful candidate will be confident in the kitchen and happy to cook family meals & prepare healthy snacks as needed.
The housekeeper will need to run occasional errands locally, including trips to the post office, grocery shop, and dry cleaners.
You should be happy to carry out some basic household admin such as making travel arrangements for the family’s holidays or arranging contractors. There may be the opportunity for you to travel with the family on their holidays, Ideally, however, this is not essential. The successful candidate will be happy to babysit in the evenings occasionally as required.
Location
The family are located near Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, CB1. This is a live out role so you must be able to easily commute to the property. Parking is available and it is on the #3 bus route.
Days/Hours
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 8am – 1pm
- Working upto 20 hours per week
- You should be happy to do occasional overtime hours or babysitting, this would be agreed in advance and will either be paid or given as time in lieu
Languages
You must speak a good level of English. If you can speak French this would be a bonus but not necessary.
Special Skills
You should be an experienced housekeeper, with initiative and a keen eye for detail. You should be child friendly and happy to get stuck in with family life. You should ideally hold a driving licence, but this is not essential.
