A friendly South African family based in Richmond, London are looking for a part time housekeeper to join their family home.
A busy family, the husband works full time and the mother is busy with her projects and schedule each week. They have two children aged 7 and 9, and three step children who are at university (fully grown). The eldest children spend time in the family house when term time is finished, so the house can be busy or quiet! The family also travel for around 3 months of the year, so there is sometimes no one in the house at all! It's a large property with five bedrooms and bathrooms. They had a housekeeper for the last 7 years and due to moving far away, the family are looking for a new long term replacement!
As a live out housekeeper, the family would require you to be in charge of all the housework, cleaning, ironing etc. Also some cooking and tidying up after meals. Due to mum sometimes being out and about, you should be child friendly and happy to help with the children and be sole charge of them in the house if both parents are out. You should therefore understand children and be comfortable around them. If you have a driving licence you might also be asked to run errands, go to the shops/post office etc. What's important for this family is that you are a valued member of the household. Their last housekeeper was part of the family, and they are looking for a long term housekeeper.
The family home is in Richmond, this is a live out role.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Currently the housekeeper is working 12:30-8:30pm these three days, but the family are open to have some flexibility. You should be happy to do additional hours here and there for additional babysitting. Occasionally the family go away at the weekends and you might be asked to help with babysitting/childcare here and there on top of these working ours.
You should speak a good level of English. If you speak German this would be a plus but not required.
Driving is not required, but if you drive you can have access to an automatic car to do any errands.
Between £10-15net per hour. The family try to equal out the salary on a pro-rata basis, so that even on the 3 months they are away (and you aren't needed) you are still getting a regular salary. You will also get overtime for extra hours worked whenever requested by the family.
The family is interviewing now for start ASAP.
