A busy family near Cirencester, GL8 are looking for a full-time nanny, who is able to assist with all aspects of family life and admin, to help care for their beautiful home and family.  Due to the location, and the role, you should hold a full driving licence.

Package Offered

  • £40,000 - £50,000 gross per year depending on experience
  • Beautiful 2 bedroom annex provided on the family grounds for any candidate who wishes to live in, otherwise you can live out (if local) or have a flexible arrangement
  • A work car (automatic) can be provided

Family Background

The family comprises of friendly parents with two boys aged 11 and 13. They are an active and busy household, and they love playing sports, outdoor activities and travelling. The boys attend full time school locally and both parents work. The eldest has mild Tourette's Syndrome and mild ADHD which he is on medication for and will commence boarding school (40 minutes away) from September where he will flexi-board a few nights per week. They have a part-time cleaner and a handyman who attend the property, and the family travel regularly both for the parents to work, but also during the school holidays. They have a cute little dog which is very loved. They are keen to find a new, long-term candidate who can provide the support they need for their family, getting fully involved in and managing day-to-day life in the household. 

Duties

You should be confident with all nanny-related duties, maintain the household and ensure it is tidy and presentable, and assist the family with all household / child-related / general administration. The successful candidate should have strong initiative, be very organised and an eye for detail. 

You should be happy to work alongside and managing the part-time cleaner and handyman, and trades people as appropriate, to ensure the house is maintained and matters dealt with in a timely fashion. The role will also involve light housework, such as tidying, laundry and ironing.

You should be happy to help with running errands, taking the boys to and from school and other activities or even kicking a football around or playing tennis with them. The right person will assist the boys with their homework, school projects and instrument practice and so ideally someone who is enthusiastic about learning. You should be confident to maintain a complete schedule for both the children and parents to coordinate social events, sports fixtures, music practice, parent meetings and so on.

You should be confident in working with parents to develop and implement discipline programs to promote positive behaviour. 

You should also be comfortable helping with family admin, from scheduling and diary management through to household management (organising and paying, tradesmen, cleaner and handyman, etc.). You should be confident with IT and comms literate, able to research tasks which are set for you and have a good ability to problem solve. Common sense is a must!

When the family travel you'll be required to house-sit, look after the children (if the parents are away) and care for the dog and ensure that the home is kept safe.  

You should be happy to cook and prepare simple healthy meals for the children and the family. You should be happy to follow recipes and organise the family’s online weekly shop.

Most importantly you should be willing to fully get involved in family life, always adjusting to the daily needs of the household and have a real 'can-do' attitude in a fun, friendly family. You will be part of the family and this family really care for the people who work for them.

Location/Accommodation

The family live near Cirencester, GL8.  If you live in, a well-appointed private two-bedroom annex will be provided (candidates with partners or pets will be considered), or you can live out if you are local, or you can have a flexible arrangement if required.

Days/Hours

  • Monday - Friday term time 7:15am - 7pm with two hours off in the middle of the day and a 5:30pm finish on a Friday. 
  • Holidays 8am - 7pm with a 5.30pm finish on a Friday.
  • Plus 1 overnight/proxy parent a week and 3 weekends proxy parenting per year.
  • You will either be paid or given back as time in lieu for any overtime worked

Languages

You must speak a very good level of English to communicate with the family. 

Special Skills

You should have good experience working with children (teenagers ideally) and running a busy household. You should have an eye for detail and a warm & positive attitude.  You must have a full driving licence, and be a confident driver, for this role.
