A lovely Greek family based in Athens, Greece are expecting a child in August the 20th 2017 and are seeking a maternity nurse for a minimum of 3 months to support the mother in the early stages of the child's life. The mother may wish to extend this booking to 6 months, but this would be discussed as the role evolves. They are open to considering candidates who can only do 3 months maximum, but if you have flexibility to do additional months then this would also be fantastic.
A mature couple, the family have two older children (19, 16 years old) and this will be their third and final child. Due to the gap between the ages of children, the family are looking to have a high level of support and guidance with the third child, and are looking for a lovely and experience maternity nurse to work for them. The older daughter is at home, whereas the older son is away studying and rarely at the family property. The family are based in Athens, but often travel to their family property in Mykonos, so there may be some travel during the duration of the role. They have a full time housekeeper who cares for their home. They also have two dogs and two cats - so you should be comfortable around animals. The husband works full time, and the mother will be staying at home once the new baby arrives and won't be working.
The baby is due to be delivered by C-section, and the mother plans to do a combination of breast and bottle feeding, be it through expressed milk or the use or formula if required. You should have experience working with mothers who have had a C-section, and be able to aid her in her recovery along with supporting the needs of the baby to help establish a good routine. The family don't have a specific approach to routine, but you would be expected to sleep in the large nursery with the baby, bringing the baby to the mother for night feeds when appropriate. Your duties will be completely around the baby and establishing a healthy and positive routine, supporting the mother and father.
The family live in Athens, Greece, and have a property on one of the Greek islands. You will be provided accommodation throughout the duration of your engagement with the family.
6 days, 24 hours, with one full day off a week (with access to private bedroom on your day off).
You must speak fluent English in order to communicate easily with the family.
You must have previous experience as a maternity nurse, and if you have had children of your own this is a plus!
£150-180 per 24 hours. Flights and accommodation will be covered by the family, plus food whilst on the working days.
The baby is due on the 20th of August 2017, so interviews are taking place now with the right candidate being booked ASAP.
