A professional family based in Islington, London, N7, with a lovely little boy aged 4.5 and a newborn baby girl, are looking for a new long-term nanny.  You must hold a full driving licence to apply for this role. This is a live in, or live out, or flexi role, depending on your preference.

Package Offered

  • £50,000 - £75,000 gross per year depending on experience and the overall package
  • A private apartment can be provided as part of the package, located a short walk from the main family home
  • An automatic car can be provided for work use

Family Background

The family live in a beautiful property in Islington, London.  Professional parents who both work, they work predominantly from the UK with little travel for work, and both have a hands-on family life with their little boy who is aged 4.5 years and their newborn daughter. The little boy will start school in reception in September.  The newborn little girl and mum are currently being supported by a maternity nurse for the next few months before the mother returns to work in the autumn. They have a full time current nanny who is moving on for personal reasons, and they are keen to find an active, fun, and happy new nanny.  They have a part-time housekeeper and a second property in the Cambridgeshire countryside which they go to for the holidays.  They have a cat so any prospective nanny must be cat friendly!

Duties

All childcare duties include working with the parents to establish healthy routines and rules, doing some school drop off and pick up from September, finding activities for each child, and taking them to those activities including swimming, music, and sport, organising and attending playdates, planning meals and cooking for the little boy and weaning the little girl.

You should be a professional career nanny, happy to focus on educational development for the children as they grow. The little boy has a passion for the outdoors and is bright and intelligent. He loves cuddles, and engaging activities like arts and crafts.  You should be happy to do the laundry for the children, and all maintain their bedrooms and nursery suites.

You should be happy with both sole charge and shared charge, as this is important to be happy to work with the parents as they, for example, do most of the bath time routines, but you should be happy to muck in and get stuck into family life alongside them.

The parents want the focus to be on ensuring that the children are happy, healthy, and loved. You should be comfortable taking directions from mum and the maternity nurse and when the maternity nurse finishes, you will have sole and shared charge with mum whilst she is on maternity leave. You should be flexible and just willing to lend an extra pair of hands whenever needed.  You should be confident around babies, and passionate about children's development and learning.

When the family goes to their countryside property in half term and holidays you will be expected to travel and stay with them (no travel abroad), so you should be happy to do this even if you live out and commute daily in London.

Location/Accommodation

This is a live in or live out role, and the family will provide a private apartment a short walk from the main family home.  You must be happy to stay with the family during the holidays in their countryside home, but you can go home at the weekends and have a flexi arrangement if you wish.  The family home is in Islington, London.

Days/Hours

  • Working from Monday to Friday, from 7am - 7pm
  • You should be happy to do occasional overtime hours or babysitting over the weekend, this would be agreed in advance and will either be paid or given as time in lieu

Languages

You should speak a fluent level of English to communicate with the family.

Special Skills

You must have a full driving licence.  You should be flexible and be willing to get fully involved in family life.

Interview/Start date

ASAP - the family will be respecting the government guidelines on COVID-19 to safely recruit their new long-term nanny.
