A lovely family living near Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire HP4 are looking for a new, long-term, Nanny / Housekeeper to join their family home. The role has the option of Live-In, should you require or prefer to. You must hold a driving licence due to the location of the property.
Family Background
The parents are busy professionals, working from home at least two days per week. They have three children, aged 9, 11 and 13. The eldest is away at boarding school and the younger two are day pupils. Their current nanny is now retiring after a happy seven years with the family, so they are now looking for a new, long-term member of staff to join their family home. They have a friendly Cockerpoo and some chickens, as such the ideal candidate must be happy around pets.
Duties
The role is split between care of the children and taking care of the home. During term time, you should be happy to help with all aspects of family life, morning school runs and the afternoon/evening routine for the children. Whilst they are at school the role focuses on taking care of the home and housekeeping duties, though the family are happy for you also to use the home gym or run personal errands during quieter periods of the day. Typical housekeeping is required and you must be confident in cleaning and doing laundry in particular, as well as generally taking care of the home.
During the holiday time, you'll do less housework, as your focus will shift more onto the children. You should be energetic, proactive and organised. Willing to arrange fun activities and playdates for the children, helping them develop and grow, through fun and play. You should be practical and hands-on with the experience of working with children in this age range. The parents are particularly keen for the children to enjoy the outdoors and spend a relatively small amount of time in front of the television.
The parents occasionally travel for work and you may be asked to do some babysitting every so often. During the weekend, the parents are typically always around, so you'll rarely work weekends, but if you do need to cover (when agreed in advance), you should be happy to do so.
Location/Accommodation
The family live near Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. This is a live in role, and you'll be provided beautiful accommodation with a connecting door to the main property, with its own bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchenette.
Days/Hours
Monday to Friday.
7am - 7pm
Languages
You should speak a good level of English.
Special Skills
You need to be able to drive - access to a car will be provided - automatic.
