A family of four based near Buckingham, MK18 are looking for an honest, flexible, and caring, live–in nanny to care for their two children and help out around the house. This is a live-in role, and a self-contained cottage, with a private garden, will be provided for you to live in. You must have a full driving license for this position.

Package Offered

·     £30,000 - £35,000 gross per annum, depending on experience

·     A lovely self-contained 2-bedroom cottage with logs for the wood burner and a private garden will be provided

Family Background

This is a charming family comprising of parents and their two sweet children, the eldest boy aged 7 years and a little girl aged 5 years. The family also has a beautiful Labrador. They live on a large, busy estate located in the countryside near Buckingham. The estate is in a rural location and a love of the countryside is essential for this role. There is a friendly team of staff who care for the maintenance of and around the property so it is also vital that you are a great team player!


The family is friendly and down-to-earth and excited to find a caring and flexible nanny who is also happy to also help with housekeeping when the family housekeeper is away. The family requires someone who is happy to work in a household with pets as they have a beautiful Labrador. The successful candidate will be proactive, and confident with all nursery duties relating to the children.

The nanny should be able to help with all homework and school-related admin, including overseeing reading and writing practice. You must encourage and support the children to have good manners. You must organise the children’s diaries, prepare their uniforms for the next day and drive them to and from school.

You must be happy to undertake some daily housekeeping when the family housekeeper is away. Day to day, you will be responsible for all housekeeping that pertains to the children (Cleaning their bedrooms, doing their laundry, ironing, and preparing their uniforms, etc). You will be confident in cooking healthy and nutritious meals, using homegrown produce where possible.

There may also be the opportunity for the nanny to travel with the family as they occasionally visit Wales, and Scotland and are in and out of London often. 

The family requires a nanny who is a confident and safe driver and will be allowed the use of one of the family cars for nannying-related duties. 


The family home is located near Buckingham, MK18. This is a live-in role, a self-contained cottage with a private garden that is a 2-minute walk away from the main house will be provided. Partners and pets are welcome to live with you in the cottage (on a case-by-case basis) but your partner would need to find work for themselves in the local area as there are no other vacancies on the estate. 


·     Working from 7:30am – 6:30pm with a 15 minute morning break and half hour lunch break. 

·     Monday – Friday, with occasional weekends when needed, with weekdays off in lieu.

·     Undertaking one evening of babysitting per week, to be agreed upon in advance. 1 evening of babysitting will be included as part of your contract. 

·     You should be happy to do occasional overtime hours or additional babysitting, this would be agreed in advance and will be paid as overtime


You should be fluent in speaking English to communicate with the family and other staff.

Special Skills

You should be an experienced nanny with knowledge of KS1 & KS2 basics to help the children with their homework. You must be experienced with housekeeping duties, and you should be able to work well as part of a team. You must be a confident and safe driver.
