A family of four who live in the beautiful countryside village near Wrestlingworth, Bedfordshire, are looking for a child-friendly housekeeper/nanny to join their family home. You must have a driving licence to apply for this role.
A professional family, the father and mother both work. The mother works locally but occasionally has to go to London with her work. The father also commutes and travels with his work. They have two children, aged 8 and 7 who are both at full time school. They've had only two nannies since the children were born, and now their current nanny is getting married and moving away so they are looking to amend the role for a greater focus on the house care, along with the childcare duties. They have a cleaner who comes to the property to do the deep cleaning each week. They have a lovely four bedroom house, one bedroom is a guest room. In the grounds they have a separate annex accommodation with it's own private entrance. Although they don't currently have any pets they are thinking about getting a cat, so any prospective candidates shouldn't be allergic to cats.
You role will be a varied one. During the term time when the children are at school your focus will be mainly on the household. Performing light housekeeping duties, tidying up after the children and getting things ready around the house. You won't be doing heavy cleaning as this is down to the cleaner, but you should be happy to get stuck in and help with term duties around the family and children. It is not a formal household and they don't expect you to plump pillows on the sofa, but to keep the playroom and children's areas tidy and clean. During the school holidays you role will shift to focus fully on the children, with light tidying as you go, but the aim will be to have fun and providing fun and entertaining activities for the children. You should be flexible, able to help cook for the children, or assist mum with the cooking. Willing to become a valued member of the family in a long-term position. There will be no travel required for this role. This role is part time during the school term, so this role would be suited to someone looking for a more relaxed working environment or someone who wants to study during the week.
You will be provided private, separate entrance annex accommodation. This has a lounge, bedroom and kitchen. With wifi, TV and your own private space. The property is near Wrestlingworth in Bedfordshire, so you should enjoy country life!
