A large stately home near Barnet, WD7, North London are looking for a live-in Housekeeper/Cook to join their team of staff. They are looking for someone who is experienced and confident in housekeeping and has a positive, can-do attitude. You must have a full driving license for this role.

- £35,000 - £40,000 gross per year
- Working Friday-Tuesday, 9am-5pm

Background
A beautiful stately home near Barnet, WD7, North London, this is the family's part-time residence. Living in the property are a family of three, along with the live-in members of staff. The property has lots of antique furniture and fine art and many bedrooms set over four floors. They are looking for someone who can become a great asset to the team, who can work well on their own initiative and work well with a team of staff. You will be working alongside a second daily housekeeper.
Duties
- You will be responsible for the security of the house and to ensure a member of staff is in the house at all times
- Arrange the house staff rota to ensure there is cover at all times
- Keep an accurate record of petty cash expenditure and add to the monthly accounting spreadsheet
- Ensuring that all areas of the house are clean and free of dust on a daily basis
- Cleaning/care of antique furniture and paintings. Advise General Manager of any items requiring specific attention or repair
- Making sure all bedrooms are kept clean and tidy and beds are made.
- Ensuring all private and communal bathrooms/lavatories are kept clean and that high levels of hygiene are maintained.
- Care and basic maintenance of all cleaning and laundry equipment and areas. Report any issues to the General Manager/Houseman
- Care and cleaning of silverware/brass using the correct methods as requested.
- Cooking when family in residence. Prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner as required
- To manage the kitchen and larder areas and ensure that they are kept clean and tidy and high levels of hygiene are maintained at all times.
- Work with the gardening team to ensure that produce grown on the estate is used where possible.
Location
The property is near Barnet, WD7, North London. This is a live-in role. They will provide private staff accommodation of a self-contained flat within the stately home.
Days/Hours
Working Friday-Tuesday, 9am-5pm. Flexibility, when the family are in residence, is important for this role.
Languages
You should speak an excellent level of English.
Skills
You must have solid experience as a housekeeper in private households. You must have a full driving license for this role.
