A professional and busy family based in Mayfair, W1 are looking for a live-in housekeeper to support the team of housekeepers, focusing mainly on the children's areas so you must be happy to work around children for this role.
Package Offered
- £35,000 - £45,000 gross per year
- Working 50 hours each week, with 2 days off during the week
- Your own private bedroom will be provided in the family home with a shared bathroom with the other housekeeper
Family Background
A fully staffed household, they have a team of housekeepers and a dedicated laundress as well as chefs, butlers, nannies and security. So it is vital that you can work well as part of a large team. The family have dogs so you should be happy to be around dogs, although you will have no duties around the dogs. This is a great opportunity for someone wishing to start a career in a private household and who wants to learn and develop great housekeeping skills.
Duties
You will be in charge of the children’s areas only, cleaning and general up keep of children's areas, distribution of laundry to the corresponding wardrobes, cooking breakfast, school runs, picking them up and taking them to extracurricular school activities.
You should be confident with all aspects of housekeeping and be able to clean and care for the home to a high standard, with great attention to detail. You will be responsible for the daily and deep cleaning of the household and ensure it is always tidy and presentable. Making beds, cleaning bathrooms and all areas of the house. They have a dedicated laundress, so you will not be doing laundry every day but may be asked to cover her days off or occasionally help out if she is busy. So you will gain laundry experience in this role too.
You should be a good team player, able to work alongside the other housekeepers and perform your duties to a high standard. A team player and willingness to learn is key.
You should have strong initiative and an eye for detail, the house is beautifully cared for, so you need to be able to come in, and learn how to keep the standards high like the other housekeepers do. The house is over five floors so you should be happy with stairs.
You should be hardworking and efficient, with a reliable and trustworthy approach. The family value honesty, discretion and hard workers and you will be rewarded for your hard work.
Location/Accommodation
The family is based in Mayfair, London and your own private bedroom will be provided in the family home. You will share a bathroom with the other live-in housekeeper and there is a staff kitchen.
Days/Hours
Working 50 hours each week, with 2 days off during the week. Ideally 7am - 5pm but days and times to be discussed at the interview.
Languages
You must speak a good level of English.
Special Skills
You do not need to have private household experience for this role, but experience in commercial cleaning or similar would be beneficial – this role is ideal for someone who is keen to make a start in a private household and is an amazing opportunity. You should be hard working and willing to learn and take direction from the other housekeepers.
