Live in Housekeeper Sought for Busy Family near Hungerford

A busy family based near Hungerford, Berkshire, RG17, are now looking for a new long-term live in housekeeper to join their family staff.

 

A wonderful, friendly and down to earth family with three children (aged 9, 7 and 4), are now looking for a new long-term live-in housekeeper to become part of their busy family life.  The mother works full time, and outside of COVID travels regularly, and the father is very busy with his own professional work and projects.  They live in a beautiful part of the world in, a stunning country estate, and they have a team of staff who work in the grounds.  They have a much-loved medium-sized dog, and planning to get a second later this year.  On their grounds is the main 8 bedroom property, and then other buildings.  They are shortly about to start a large renovation project on the main property, so will be moving into one of the smaller buildings on the estate whilst the main house is undergoing the work.   

 

You should be confident with all aspects of housekeeping and be able to clean and care for the home to a high standard, with great attention to detail. You will be responsible for the daily and deep cleaning of the household and ensure it is always tidy and presentable. Making beds, cleaning bathrooms and all areas of the house. You will also be responsible for laundry, ironing, and ensuring that the home is generally well presented and cared for.

 

You should be happy to do the cooking, for the whole family.  They tend to cook from scratch and eat fresh, healthy Mediterranean style food so you should be confident in your cooking skills and be able to follow recipes. You should be confident in the kitchen, and cook a range of recipes like Italian, Indian, Asian and English. 

 

You should have strong initiative and an eye for detail, the house is beautifully cared for, so you need to be able to come in, and keep the standards strong.  You'll be looking after the main property and the other properties on the estate, and working around the contractors whilst the main household is under renovation.  You should be child friendly and if required happy to lend a hand with mum and dad when needed.  The busy family times are the morning and evening before and after school, so you should be happy to help with the children at the busy times as required.

 

You should be hardworking and efficient, with a reliable and trustworthy approach.  The family value honesty, discretion and hard workers.  They are keen to find someone with strong initiative and who can work independently without lots of micro-managing.  They are a friendly family, but do require a committed and long-term candidate to become part of their family life.

 

You should also be pet friendly and happy to walk the dog, and love country-side life!  It's a stunning part of the world to live in, and the family look after their staff who all stay in long-term positions with them.  You should be happy to travel with the family when required for holidays, or alternatively look after the family home and care for the dog.

 

The family live near Hungerford, Berkshire, RG17.  You'll be provided with your own private accommodation on the grounds of the estate in a beautiful self-contained annexe.  With it's own bathroom, living room and kitchen.

 

You must speak a good level of English to communicate with the family.  

 

You must be highly organised and have great attention to detail in relation to housekeeping. You should be a confident cook, be looking for a long-term role.  You do not need to drive, but if you do this is a bonus.
