Family Background
A high profile family, they have multiple properties, in Switzerland and Dubai.  The family are active and fit.  They travel regularly, and enjoy healthy activities such as skiing and sports.  Despite their high profile, they are down to earth and are very kind to their staff.  They have no pets.  They have a large team of staff who work for them, and the staff regularly travel from property to property.  The house manager is active and organised and she commands respect, whilst inspiring the team to work in long-term positions for her and the family.  Due to personal reasons, their current laundry and wardrobe specialist is moving on, and they are now looking for a new team member.  They are open to male or female, the most important being the skills and aptitude for the position.

Duties
Your attitude and fit with the family is key.  You should have previous experience in laundry skills, either in a private home, or in a 5* hotel.  You will have full responsibility of the laundry, for the family of six, plus the guests and nannies.  You should be highly skilled with laundry and wardrobe management.  Care of fine garments, from silk, wool, fur, lace, and know how to fold and manage clothes to the highest standards.  Everything in the home is folded to perfection, with the wardrobes looking like a high end shop.  You should have knowledge of handling and cleaning everything from ski wear through to fur.  For extremely difficult items, these can be sent to the dry cleaners, but you should understand what needs to be sent and what doesn't.

The most important element is your own cleanliness and tidiness.  The staff are expected to behave as the principals do, with the organised system being followed, and the attention to detail.  You should be willing to go the extra mile, both in your team work, and for the detail of the duties, giving the principals and their family a wonderful home.  You should have a good attitude and spirit, and enjoy getting the job done to the highest level.

Location/Accommodation
The family's main residence is in Switzerland.  You will be provided accommodation in the staff apartments.  You will have your own room, but the main living areas, (kitchen and living areas etc) are shared with other staff.  If you drive a car will be provided.

Days/Hours
  • Typically you'll have 1 - 2 days off a week.
  • Typically a day will start at 8am and be around 9 hours.
  • When the family are in residence, then you'll be focused on the care of the family, and the house manager will give additional time off in lieu when the family travel.
  • A team effort, the house manager is fair and ensures that you have extra time off, for extra hours worked.
