Family Background
A busy professional family are seeking an experienced Housekeeper/Nanny for their family of three in Beaconsfield. Both parents own their own busy businesses, and they have a delightful five year old child.  Recently relocating back to the UK after many years abroad, they are keen to find a new long-term member of staff to help care for their 6 bedroom home, and help after school with their son.

The parents like to have a very clean, tidy and well-run house, whilst their 5 year old son and 8 month old Labrador puppy may have other ideas. The successful candidate should have strong initiative and an eye for detail, the house is beautifully cared for, so you need to be able to come in, and keep the standards strong. You should be confident with all aspects of housekeeping and be able to clean and care for the home to a high standard.

Being responsible for the daily and deep cleaning of the house and ensure it is always tidy and presentable. Making beds, cleaning bathrooms and all areas of the house. You will also be responsible for laundry, ironing, and ensuring that the home is generally well presented and cared for. Later in the afternoon the role merges into helping look after the son from around 3:30pm, which could be in his playroom, a playdate perhaps or a swim at the country club.

The son, aged 5, can be cheeky but he is very well behaved. He loves to play outside, kick a ball, as much as he likes to play with his dinosaurs and rocket ships. He also enjoys sitting down with his favourite books and if he’s too tired a cartoon or two. He is at the school a few mins drive away so you may be required pick him up during term time whilst the rest of the day will be housekeeping work for the family.  The family are very hands on with their son and having offices at home and in London often allows them to do the bath and bedtime routines. They really want someone who feels relaxed around their family and is flexible to fit in with their busy life style, and on occasion, travel with them.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is engaging and fun and is adept in housekeeping as well as comfortable around their son, someone who will get up and kick a football around the garden with him and plan activities around his interests and organise playdates for after school. You will need to have good attention to detail and be proactive around the home ensuring food is planned, ordered and the dinner is prepped.  A muck-in attitude, willing to get involved in all aspects of family life and looking for a long-term stable role is key.
