A female principal near Holland Park, London, W8 is looking for a long term housekeeper to care for her beautiful home. This is a live out role so you must be able to easily commute to the property.
Package Offered
- £40,000 - £50,000 gross per year depending on experience
- Working an average of 40 hours a week, however this is the principals second home and when she is not in residence you will not be required to work every day
Family Background
The principal has a second home near Holland Park, London. She visits every 2 months for about a week at a time. She lives in a beautiful 6 bedroom townhouse and has no pets. She has a young son and two older daughters who will occasionally come to London with her when she visits – so you should be happy around children and able to help out when needed.
Duties
The successful candidate will be an experienced housekeeper who has worked in private households previously and be happy to manage the household on their own with little guidance from the principal. They will have a warm, friendly, and happy personality. You should be looking for a long term role.
You should be confident with all daily & deep housekeeping duties and be able to clean and care for the home to a five-star standard. The home is not in regular use so on a normal week the main duties will just be to keep an eye on the house, collect and sort any post and ensure that everything is in order. You should be happy to deal with contractors when required.
When the principal is in residence it will be a lot busier, and you should be happy to work additional hours as required. You should always ensure the house is ready for the principals’ visits, ensuring the fridge is stocked and beds are clean. If you enjoy cooking, then this would also be a bonus when the principal is in residence.
You should feel confident in wardrobe management and be able to pack and unpack for the principals’ visits.
Location
The principal lives near Holland Park, London W8. You should be able to commute easily. This is a live-out role.
Days/Hours
You will be contracted for an average of 40 hours per week, from Monday – Friday. However, when the principal is not in residence you will not be expected to work these hours and will be free to manage your time as you wish, as long as the house is looked after and managed as required.
This will then balance out when the principal is in residence, as you will be expected to work longer hours to ensure that all duties are kept on top of. The principal visits approximately one week in every two months.
Languages
You must speak an excellent level of English to communicate with the principal.
Special Skills
You should be a skilled housekeeper and be confident in managing a house with little supervision.
