An active family of 5 who live in a lovely property near Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, OX7 are looking for a positive and energetic housekeeper to join their family in a long-term role. You should have experience working in private households with a busy family, either as a housekeeper or as a nanny with housekeeping duties. This is a live out role. You must have a full driving license and be a confident driver for this role.
Package Offered
- £35,000 - £45,000 gross per year, depending on experience
- A car can be provided for work duties if required
Family Background
A busy family of 5 who live near Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, OX7 are looking for an experienced child-friendly housekeeper. This role would suit a self-motivated person who enjoys busy family life and being part of the family. The main property has 6 bedrooms, 4 of which are in regular use and they have occasional guests. They have three children aged eight, twelve and fourteen who are all very independent but will need overseeing when the parents are working, the eldest is at weekly boarding school so is not around during the week. They also have two beautiful golden-doodle dogs!
Duties
You will be responsible for the cleaning of the interior of the property. Laundry and ironing, making beds and doing the daily and deep cleaning of the main house. You should be happy to help with light cooking and meal prep as and when required.
As part of your duties, you will drive the children to and from school twice a week in term time – driving duties will be from 7am-9am and from 3pm-5pm. In the school holidays, you will just need to oversee the children as there will not be any school pick-ups to do. The parents work in the city two days each week so you should be happy to have sole charge of the children on these days, cooking with them, helping them with their homework and music practice. On the other days, your focus will be on housekeeping.
The family love to walk their dogs, however, you should be happy to walk the dogs twice a day on the days that the parents are working in the city. They are lovely, friendly, happy dogs and love to go out for walks and be around people, so you should be confident with dogs for this role.
Location
The family live near Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, OX7. The property is easy to get to by car and there is parking available. You should be in easily commutable distance.
Days/Hours
- Monday – Friday, working 40 hours each week.
- On the two days when you need to do driving duties you will be required to work from 7am – 6pm.
- On the other days you will work 6 hours per day
- Any hours worked over your 40 hours per week will be paid as overtime.
Languages
A good level of English is required.
Special Skills
You should have experience of working in private households and be dedicated and reliable. You should enjoy being part of a busy family life and have a can-do attitude. You must have a full driving license and be a confident driver for this role.
