A busy family, where both parents work, who are about to move to Hampstead, NW3, London, are now looking for a new part-term housekeeper to join their family home. The family are currently based in Hackney, E1, but in 2 months’ time will be moving to Hampstead, NW3.

  • £15 - £18 gross per hour.
  • Working 4 or 5 days a week (the family are flexible with those days).
  • 5 hours per day, flexible on which hours are worked.

Family Background
A busy, working family with two young children (aged 5 and 16 months) are looking for a part-time housekeeper for their 4-bedroom home. The family have a beloved 6-month-old Golden Doodle puppy so you must be a dog lover and happy to be around dogs for this role.  They currently have a full-time nanny who cleans the children’s room and does their laundry so you must be comfortable working as part of a small team. The family are relocating from Hackney, E1, to Hampstead, NW3 in in mid July, so you should be happy to commute for the first 2 months to Hackney, and then be based from the family home in Hampstead long term.

You will assist the family with getting their current house ready to move, and then helping with the move.  Organising packing and unpacking and helping settle into their new home.  Once settled in the new property, you will be in charge of the daily and deep cleaning of the house and ensure it is always tidy and presentable. Making beds, cleaning bathrooms and all areas of the house. You will also be very confident taking care of the laundry and taking particular care of delicate materials. You will also be responsible for ironing and wardrobe management. You will ensure that the home is generally well presented and cared for.

You should be a confident cook and be comfortable cooking for the family a couple of times a week, including light batch cooking – authentic asian food is a family favorite! You should be flexible and be able to assist the family by running errands, taking the dog for a walk and assisting with light childcare and babysitting duties.

The successful candidate should have strong initiative and an eye for detail. You should be confident with all aspects of housekeeping and be able to clean and care for the home to a high standard but also have a relaxed demeanor and be comfortable working in an informal family setting.  You should have excellent initiative and like to get on with things. You should be pro-active and highly organised, managing the kitchen and taking note if something needs repairing.

If your schedule allows you to work extra hours and travel to the family's weekend home in Norfolk would be a bonus, but it is not required if you have other work commitments.

The family are currently based near Hackney, E1, but will be relocating in 2 month’s time to Hampstead, NW1. You should be happy to commute to Hackney for the first 2 months and help the family relocate to Hampstead where you will finally be based. This is a live-out role.

Working 4 or 5 days a week (the family are flexible with those days) 5 hours each day.  The family has a preference for afternoons finishing no later than 5:30pm. If you can give a bit of flexibility to help out with the occasional evenings for babysitting this would be a bonus.

Special Skills
You must have previous experience working as a housekeeper. You should be highly organised and proactive and happy to be around children and dogs.
