A family based near Regents Park, London, NW1 is looking for an experienced House Manager/Cook. This is a live-in role.  

Package Offered

  • £40,000 - £45,000 a year, depending on experience.
  • Own private mews house with bedroom, sitting room, bathroom

Family Background
The family (two parents and a toddler) live in a beautiful 5-bedroom property set over 5 floors. The family spend 120 days maximum in England per annum and is looking for a confident person to keep things running whilst they are in residence, and running smoothly in their absence.  They have two daily housekeepers who attend the property, and when they are in residence the household is busy, with guests and visitors.

Duties
You should be highly professional and experienced as a house manager. You must be flexible and reliable. 

The day-to-day duties include:

  • Laying the table and dinner service.
  • Thorough working knowledge of and capable of managing the maintenance of systems with external providers/teams- audio visual, electric, boilers/heating, air conditioning, pool, water softener, plumbing, Alarms, gardening service (only flower boxes and terrace flowers and shrubs, there’s no actual garden)
  • Very confident at cooking and can also manage small dinner parties and family occasions.
  • Shopping for food, and household supplies and maintaining wine and spirit stocks.
  • Oversee and manage the cleaners.
  • Sending out dry cleaning.
  • Helping with packing and unpacking when the clients travel.
  • Strong and fit as you will need to carry suitcases upstairs as there is no elevator.
  • Keep household accounts and records in good order and communicate/report to the family office about these. 
  • Be good around children as there is a 18 month old toddler.

Location/Accommodation
The property is in Regents Park, London, NW1. This is a live-in role.  Private separate entrance mews house is provided attached to the main property.

Days/Hours

  • When the family are in residence for the 120 days, you will be expected to work the full day, starting when the family require you to do so and finishing in the evening.  This may include weekends.
  • When the family are not in residence, you will work Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, and your hours will be flexible to ensure that you keep an eye on the property.  

Languages
A good level of English is required.  

Special Skills
You must be highly organised and have great attention to detail.
