They have a houseman, and recently had housekeepers in the property, however they are looking to find a new team of housekeepers, including a head housekeeper to work in the property, providing excellent service for their principals.
Duties
You will be responsible for managing and maintaining the daily upkeep of the main house and overseeing the team of housekeepers. You will report directly to the Estate Manager and all issues and questions should be directed to them, rather than to the principal. Your role is to ensure the house is kept in top condition at all times, so that the couple can have a comfortable and pleasant environment to live in. The house should always be tidy and presentable. During the busy periods, it's all hands on deck, and you will need to roll up your sleeves for the daily duties, as well as managing the other housekeepers.
You will need to be very confident taking care of wardrobe management in the home. Including laundry and ironing for the couple, including managing all external dry cleaners. You should have a great discerning and refined eye for detail. The couple enjoy having their beautiful home well presented and cared for, and you should have previously worked in large properties with antiques and fine art. You should be a strong housekeeper, as well as excellent at team management.
The successful candidate should have strong initiative and a discerning and refined eye for detail. You should be confident with all aspects of housekeeping and team management and be able to assist with the cleaning and care for the home to a high standard. You should be a team player, always willing to go the extra mile and be looking for a long-term role. Twice a month, you will be expected to attend the townhouse in Manhattan for cleaning.
You should be willing to roll up your sleeves and lead by example - this is a hands on role, not simply a management of the other housekeepers. You should be able to combine your admin skills with practical skills.
