A warm, friendly and down to earth family are now looking for a wonderful nanny to join their family home near Cold Ash, West Berkshire, RG18. This is a live in, live out or flexi arrangement. You must have a full driving licence in order to apply for this role.
Package Offered
- £25,000 - £28,000 gross per year

Family Background
A family of four, two professional parents who work full time, they have two cheerful and bright children aged 6 and 2. The six year old attends full time school, and the two year old is starting nursery (three days a week) in September. They live in a beautiful part of the world, with beautiful grounds and horses. They have had a much loved nanny who is moving on for a new opportunity after almost 2 years, and the family are sad to see her go as they all love her a great deal. They are now looking for a new, long-term nanny to become a valued member of the family unit. They have a part time housekeeper who attends to do the deep cleaning each week. They also have a very playful Labrador and the family keep horses in their grounds.
Duties
You should be warm, kind and compassionate, with a joy for looking after children. The children are bright and love to be stimulated with fun and learning games, but equally need a firm routine and discipline (in line with the parents guidance) when needed. You will be involved in the morning routine, getting the children ready for school/nursery and then driving them to school and nursery, so you should be a confident driver.
When the children are at school and nursery, you'll have the morning to focus on household duties, from light tidying, managing the children's rooms and making sure other parts of the household daily duties are organised. From ordering food, running errands and planning activities for the children. You'll then pickup the children at the respective times for collection and in between this play, and keep the children happy and safe. During the school holidays you'll be focused fully on the children and daily duties.
You should be easy going and happy to be involved in family life, helping the children with homework, and taking them out to play in the gardens. The family own horses, so you should not be scared or allergic to horses, and open to learning about horses - although the mum deals with the duties around the horses, if you are keen to get involved this is a bonus!
You should be a confident swimmer and love the outdoors, going on country walks and playing outside with the children. You should be flexible to do light household duties, from tidying up and helping keep the place well organised. You should be able to cook easy, fresh and healthy food for the children and if you are happy to cook for the parents too this would be a huge bonus.
There will be no travel as part of this role, but if you are happy to care for the dog and horses when the family are travelling this would be ideal. They are looking for someone who is responsible and warm, and loving to their children, and also willing to stay in a long-term role. Being flexible and adaptive is key.
Location/Accommodation
This is a role near Cold Ash, West Berkshire, RG18, and you can be provided beautiful accommodation on the grounds if you do not live nearby. This is a self-contained annexe, with it's own newly refurbished kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. The family are open to you living in full time, or having a flexi arrangement - or you can commute each day if you are local.
Days/Hours
Monday to Friday, 7am - 7pm. With any additional babysitting or work outside of these hours arranged in advance and paid in overtime or time off in lieu
Languages
You must speak a very good level of English.
Special Skills
You should be a confident driver and be happy to cook. Being mindful of children's learning activities and educational growth.
