A professional couple based in North London, Finchley (near Muswell Hill and Islington) are looking for an experienced and professional nanny to join their family. This can be either a live out or live in role and you must hold a full driving licence (you will be given an automatic car to drive if you do not have one).
Family Background
A professional family, they have three children aged 7, 5 and 2. The older children attend full time school and the younger one nursery. They have had a nanny for the last 5 years and she is moving on, so they are keen to find a new, long term nanny to join their family. The children are intelligent and easy-going. They are not fussy eaters and have a good structure and routine in their lives making it a joy to work with them. They are bright children, with kind and caring parents. They have no animals and live in a beautiful home
Duties
Your role will be fully focused on the children. You should be experienced caring and looking after children of similar ages, understanding how to make fresh foods, routine and giving them support in their homework and play activities. You should understand children development and the different stages they go through, and understand how to provide a caring and nurturing environment for them. Your duties outside of direct childcare will be related to the children, from preparing food, doing the children's laundry and tidying up the children's room. They have a part time cleaner so you won't have to do any housework, but you should be tidy and willing to help out around the house, working as a team with the housekeeper. Being helpful about the house is a must, but you won't be required to do any housekeeping - your role is focused solely on the care and attention of the child and the associated duties. There will be rare proxy-parenting where you might be asked to stay overnight if the parents want to have a rare getaway together. There might also be occasional travel with the family but if you prefer not to travel then that is also fine.
Location/Accommodation
The family live in Finchley, North London (easy tube connections and close to the station). It is a lovely part of North London. If you prefer to live in, then you will be provided your own floor of the property with own bathroom and seperate spaces. If you are live out, you should live no longer than 35/40 minute commute away.
Days/Hours
During term, you'll be working 7am-10am and then 2pm-7pm. With occasional babysitting and flexi-hours (if you wish). During the school holidays you'll be working 7am-7pm with regular breaks throughout the day. During term time, your hours will be around 40 hours a week, and during holidays it will increase to around 55/60. However you will have lots of breaks and support during the holidays.
Languages
You should speak a good level of English.
Special Skills
You should have a driving licence and be able to drive an automatic car. You should be looking for a long term role.
Package Offered
- The family will pay between £12/13net per hour depending on experience.
- During term time, this will work out to be £480-520 net per week (40 hours week)
- During holiday time, this will work out to be £720net-£780net per week (60 hour week)
- With school terms approx averaging 7 months of the year and holiday months approx averaging 5 months, the yearly approx salary would be: £41K - 47K gross per year
