A beautiful large country estate near Bicester, Oxfordshire, OX25, are looking for a new full time House Person. You must have a full driving licence for this position. You must have a good knowledge of the local area. This is a live in or live out role.
Package Offered
- £30,000 - £40,000 gross per year depending on the overall package
- A car can be provided for work duties
- A lovely 2 bedroom cottage on the estate can be provided if you chose to live in
Family Background
The family lives in a country manor house, the property has ten stunning bedrooms. Living in the household is mum, dad and their two youngest children, the older two children are currently at boarding school. They live a busy lifestyle with active social lives, the family travel regularly. The household is fully staffed, with housekeepers, groundskeepers, nannies, a groom, and two personal assistants. You must be confident around animals for this role as the family have horses, dogs, cats, and a herd of deer.
Duties
This is a dynamic and varied role. You must enjoy working outside and be organised to ensure no duty is missed. You will have a rolling schedule of duties to attend to, including:
- Animal duties include - letting the dogs out, walking the dogs, feeding, scheduling vaccinations etc
- You will be responsible for deer/deer park/deer food
- Driving duties including occasional school runs (once a week), and airport runs
- Laying fires/replenishing wood baskets
- Household errands (dry cleaning, clean shoes, clean outdoor equipment)
- Household planning/administration (arranging contractors, planning maintenance, problem solving, purchasing etc)
- Checking/emptying bins
- General maintenance work outside the property and undertaking visual maintenance inspections of house and grounds
- Responsible for maintenance hard landscaping - decking/pool area/paths/driveway gravel/drive etc
- Keeping garages/storage areas organised and clean
- Undertaking security checks, arranging annual M&E/fire/security/gates/AV check
- Making sure tack room, dog room, courtyard, and garages are clean and tidy
- Basic car checks including checking windscreen washer fluid levels, cleanliness and fuel levels
- Check car maintenance requirements - liaising with other employees
- Checking ash bin and biomass boiler
- Checking/maintaining the swimming pool throughout the summer
- Harrowing/raking drive gravel (every 2 weeks)
- Checking fuel pellet and oil tank levels
- You should be happy to house sit/pet sit when the family travel
Location/Accommodation
The property is located near Oxford, Oxfordshire, OX25. This is a live in or live out role - you must have a good knowledge of the local area. If you choose to live out, you must be able to easily commute to the property. A beautiful private 2 bedroom cottage will be provided on the estate if you choose to live in.
Days/Hours
- Working 45 hours per week
- Working weekends with 2 days off during the week
Languages
You must speak an excellent level of English to be able to communicate with the family and staff.
Special Skills
You should have good experience working as a House Person in a private household. You should be confident in general maintenance duties and be happy working around animals. You must have a full driving licence for this role.
