A lovely busy family in near Petworth, West Sussex, are looking for a long term, live in domestic couple who are child friendly, to look after their beautiful family home. At least one of you must have a full driving licence to apply for this role.
A busy family of five, with three children (9, 8 and 11) who attend school. They have a full time nanny who cares for their three children. They have two dogs (Lurchers). On the grounds they have the main property which is a five bedroom house. They also have a four bedroom property on the estate, with other buildings such as a pool house with accommodation, barns and a gym. They have a full time gardener who tends their grounds. They have had staff for the last 20 years, and are experienced with providing a fantastic and professional environment for the staff to work in. They want to find a new caring, child friendly domestic couple who will be an integral part of their family life in a new long-term role with them.
As a couple, you'll be responsible for all the housekeeping, deep cleaning, laundry and ironing. You will also be in charge of driving duties, pet care and occasional cooking. You might be asked to lend a hand if the nanny has to go to an appointment with a child and the children are in the house - so although this will be rare you should be comfortable around children. You will also be expected to babysit once or twice a week. The mum is very involved in family life, but you are there to support her, and get on top of all the housekeeping and duties within the house and the outbuildings. You may also support the gardener in the grounds with light gardening tasks. When the family travel one of you will be expected to live in the property to take care of the dogs (you are both welcome to live in during that time if you wish). You should be looking for a long term position, as the family want to have a long term members of staff. As it's a busy family, you should be happy to be discreet and just have good common sense to get on with tasks at hand, to help make family life run smoothly.
You'll be provided with your own self-contained cottage, with two bedrooms in the local village of Petworth. This will be your own property to live in.
Tuesday to Saturday with Sunday and Monday off. 7:30am start (to help with the school runs), with a two and a half hour break for lunch, then working through to 7:30/8pm each day.
You should speak a good level of English to communicate with the family.
At least one of you must hold a full driving licence would be required. If you do not have a car you'll be provided access to a staff car.
