A down to earth and friendly British family, with a relaxed and kind family approach are looking for a live in Housekeeper (who is happy to help out with the children), to join their family on a long term basis.
The family are based in Elstree, Hertfordshire which is Greater North London (20 mins to Kings Cross train station), and have had a nanny/housekeeper for the last five years. She is moving on to start her own family, and due to the children now being older, the role is evolving into a housekeeper position with some childcare duties. They have three children, 10, 8 and 5.5 years old and they all attend full time school. The father works full time and travels regularly, and the mother is a part time teacher, so is very active and present in the children and family routine. The live in a 3 floor house, which is beautifully decorated (recently renovated), and they have two guinea pigs.
Your focus will be 70% on the housekeeping, from all household duties, laundry, cleaning and house upkeep. Although the children attend school, and the mum is very active, they do require about 30% of the role to be helping with the children, so you should be happy to occasionally help out, entertain or keep na eye on them. Helping mum with the bedtime/morning routine and also helping with babysitting here and there. When the children are at school you'll be helping with changing bedding, ironing and running errands. If you enjoy cooking and want to cook this is a bonus but it isn't essential. A team player is essential, happy to get stuck in with mum and the children and just help make the house a wonderful happy home!
Elstree, Hertfordshire (20 minute train ride to Kings Cross). You will be provided your own bedroom, and bathroom on the top floor. The bedroom is big and beautifully furnished, including TV, internet etc. It has a private balcony and is a really lovely space.
Typically the day starts at 7:15 and ends at 7:15 and during the day you'll have a 2 hour break. Currently the family's current staff member works Tuesday to Saturday (with Sunday and Monday off), with one or occasionally two pre-arranged babysitting, however the family can be flexible and work with Monday-Friday, but they would prefer if this is the case for the odd Saturday to be worked when agreed in advance.
You should speak an excellent level of English to communicate with the family.
You do not need to drive, but if you do the family will provide you access to an automatic car.
£350-450net a week / £22-30K gross per year depending on experience. The family can go a little higher for the perfect candidate, but there isn't a huge amount of wiggle room on this.
Interviews taking place ASAP. The family ideally would like someone to start in January/February, but they can start earlier if required.
