A mature couple, based in Holland Park are looking for a full time live in OR live out Housekeeper/Cook.
Family Background
A couple of Malaysian background, they have lived and worked in London for many years and it is their main home. Their property is currently undergoing extensive renovations which are due to complete in the next 14 months. They have four floors and 5 bedrooms in the property. Due to a back injury, the wife is limited in her physicality, and although she is fully mobile, is unable to perform heavy duty physical tasks. They have a large extended family who regularly visit, and a much loved four year old dog who is a precious part of the family. You will be working alongside another housekeeper who is full time.
Duties
Your duties will be focused on the care of the home to the highest level. You'll also be expected to cook and prepare most of the meals for the family. They have an international cuisine and love food, so you should enjoy cooking food. They are happy to provide additional training for cooking should it be required. Ideally you should have experience working for Middle Easter or Asian cultures to understand the culture and habits of the family, but most importantly you should be flexible and able to help in all aspects of housekeeping from vacuuming, mopping, laundry, ironing and care of the entire home. They have a lovely dog, so you should be pet friendly and happy to help with any pet duties whenever might be required.
Location/Accommodation
The couples property is located in Holland Park. If you wish to live in, you will be provided a room in the property with access to a shared bathroom. Once the renovations are completed you will be given your own staff accommodation in the basement, with bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchenette. If you wish to live out, then you can commute daily.
Days/Hours
5-6 days a week. The family will give you 1-2 days per week off, but flexibility is required as typically they entertain over the weekend (out of the house) so your day(s) off would be during the week. Start at 7:30am each day, with a 9 hour working day (with breaks etc)
Languages
You should speak a good level of English.
Special Skills
You should be respectful, discreet and confidential with your approach to work. If you wish to live in due to the principals preference, they are only open to single candidates and will not consider couples or people with animals or children.
Package Offered
£350-450 net per week depending on experience.
