A down-to-earth family is looking for a full-time housekeeper to join their stunning property and family home in Petersfield, Hampshire, GU31. This is a live-out role and you should be able to commute easily to the property.
Package Offered
- £45,000 - £70,000 gross per annum depending on experience
- An automatic work car can be provided for work duties if you do not have your own one.
Family Background
A family of three (with a new baby arriving in May), the mother and father, have an adorable 13-month-old toddler, and expecting their second baby in May. Their first child will start nursery in June, and attend Monday to Friday 9am - 3pm nursery. They have a much loved large German Shepard family pet, who is very well trained but a big, confident dog. They live in a stunning 7 bedroom property which has four floors including the basement which is the cinema room. They are keen to find a new long-term housekeeper who is also very child-friendly and happy to help lend a pair of hands
Duties
You will be the responsible housekeeper for the property, and as such you should be skilled, confident and able to manage the home and help clean it to the highest level. You should be confident with all aspects of housekeeping, including the care of furniture and fine furnishings, and be able to clean and care for the home to a high standard, with great attention to detail. You will be in charge of the daily and deep cleaning of the household and ensure it is always tidy and presentable including making beds, cleaning bathrooms and the kitchen. You will also be expected to assist with the family’s laundry and ironing.
You should be able to cook light and easy food for the toddler, and occasionally make some extra food for the parents, but not high-end food. The mum loves to cook, but if you can lend a hand, or chop vegetables for her as required this would be part of the role. You should be happy to run errands and help with all aspects of household management and daily running of the household.
You should be child-friendly and be able to help the mum with childcare duties for the toddler and the newborn. You should be confident working with children. The family own a large dog so you should be happy to be the dog and occasionally help with a dog walk if needed.
You will be expected to travel with the family for 1 month in January every year, and 3 weeks at Easter when the family travel to the husband's family country, and during this travel period, you would adjust your hours to help the parents with the children. Also continuing with the housekeeping of the property abroad. You will be provided with a beautiful entire top floor of the property, which is a self-contained annex, living room, kitchen and bathroom when you do travel with the family for these 7 weeks each year. Outside of this the family have the odd trip here and there, and if you are happy to travel more then this is great, otherwise it will be the 7 weeks of travel for the year.
When the family do travel (outside of the 7 weeks) if you do not travel with them then some flexibility to look after the house/dog would be appreciated.
The ideal candidate will be a hard-working, experienced and committed housekeeper. Looking for a long-term role and be willing to provide the highest level of care and attention to the family and their beautiful house and children.

The main family home is in Petersfield, Hampshire, GU31. This is a live-out role and you should be able to commute to the property. When you travel with the family accommodation will be provided.

- Monday to Friday
- 9am - 6pm
- Flexibility to do additional hours/babysitting when agreed in advance. This will be paid as overtime or time off in lieu
Languages
You must speak a good level of English
Special Skills
You must hold a driving licence and be comfortable around big dogs. You should also be happy to travel for the 7 weeks every year as part of the role. You should be a child-friendly housekeeper and be able to help with childcare.
