Package Offered
- £22,000 - £28,000 gross per year depending on experience
- Option to live in, but the package would be adjusted accordingly.
Family Background
A family of four, with two dogs and two hamsters are looking for a new long-term housekeeper who is a capable cook to join their family home. A beautiful four bedroom home, on a countryside lane near to Thatcham, their current housekeeper is moving back to her home country, and they are now looking for a new member of staff to join their family home. They are keen to find a committed and long-term candidate. The family are generous, and have retained their staff for long-term.
Duties
You should be confident with all aspects of housekeeping and be able to clean and care for the home to a high standard, with great attention to detail. You will be responsible for the daily and deep cleaning of the household and ensure it is always tidy and presentable. Making beds, cleaning bathrooms and all areas of the house. You will also be responsible for laundry, ironing, and ensuring that the home is generally well presented and cared for.
You should be happy to do the cooking, including breakfast, lunch and dinner for the whole family. You'll be in charge of doing the weekly shop and going to the local butcher and stores to buy fresh food. The parents both work full time, but at the moment they work from home due to lockdown, so often you'll be cooking for the four family members, but when life resumes to normal, then you'll just be cooking when they are in residence. They tend to cook from scratch and eat fresh, healthy Mediterranean style food. You should be happy to be around dogs and help look after the family dog with feeding and going for walks.
The family are warm, friendly and easy-going and their previous staff have all stayed long-term with the family, so they are looking for a kind and wonderful new member of staff to join their family home. You should be excellent at house management and be there to make life easier and the household run smoothly in all aspects. When the family travel, they may ask you to live in (if you do not already) although this is optional as they have a house sitter. But ideally would like to have their home cared for and the dogs looked after when they are abroad.
Location/Accommodation
The family live Thatcham, RG19, West Berkshire. The family would prefer live out, but if you chose to live in, private accommodation can be provided with it's own entrance.

8:30am - 6:30pm Monday to Friday
Languages
You must speak a good level of English to communicate with the family.
Special Skills
You must be highly organised and have great attention to detail in relation to the housekeeping. You should be a confident cook, be looking for a long-term role and be confident around dogs.
