A professional couple based in the beautiful mountain resort area of Chamonix, France, 74400 are now looking for a long-term housekeeper for their home. You must hold a full driving license for this role, a work car can be provided for you to use. You must have the legal right to work in the EU. You must be able to speak french conversationally.
 

Package Offered    

  • €35,000 - €50,000 gross per year depending on experience
  • 8:30am - 5:30pm
  • Working Monday - Friday, with flexi at the weekends
  • Re-location package can be arranged, and local accommodation can also be provided, with the salary being adjusted accordingly.
  • A car will be provided for work duties (automatic).

Family Background
A professional couple with two small dogs, based in the beautiful mountain resort area of Chamonix, France. This is a world famous ski resort, and is one of the most stunning places to live in the world!  The couple are entrepreneurs with intense jobs and spend their time between Chamonix and London where they work.  They have two, much loved dogs, who do not typically travel with the couple and stay in France.  They do not have any children.  They lead a very busy and active outdoor life, with travel, entertaining and need a housekeeper who will be able to keep their properties beautifully presented at all times. The couple currently employ a chalet management company who oversee the maintenance of the garden, pool, and all contractors.

Duties
You should be confident with all aspects of housekeeping and be able to clean and care for the home to a high standard, with great attention to detail. You will be responsible for the daily and deep cleaning of the household and ensure it is always tidy and presentable. You will need to keep the house organised, including kitchen cupboards and wardrobe management. Making beds, cleaning bathrooms and all areas of the house. You will also be responsible for laundry, ironing, and ensuring that the home is generally well presented and cared for.  Attention to detail is extremely important, and you should enjoy working to high standards as requested by the principals. 
 
You should have knowledge of household management. You will be required to help with administrative support for the principals to help manage their household admin. 

You will be required to drive the principals to the airport twice a month. You will stay at the property to look after the dogs, and when the principals travel, you may be asked to house sit/look after the property and the dogs.   

You should have a driving license and be experienced driving for others.  You will be required to run errands including trips for groceries, as well as running other errands required, including driving to Geneva, Switzerland (1.5 hours away).

You should be confident around the principals’ two dogs. You will be required to walk both dogs two or three times a day. You should have a high level of fitness for dog walking at altitude. You will also be responsible for feeding the dogs, ordering new food and taking them to the vets as well as staying on top of their medication. 

They are looking for a long-term member of staff, who can help manage and care for their home to a high standard.  Helping with entertaining when the couple have guests and being flexible and kind in your professional approach.

Location/ Accommodation
The couple spend their time between Chamonix, France and London, UK. The couple’s chalet is near the centre of Chamonix, and you can be provided with accommodation in the local town, if you require it. 

Days/Hours

  • 8:30am - 5:30pm
  • Working Monday - Friday, with flexi at the weekends
  • When the couple are not in France, your hours will reduce, but you would be expected to work over the weekends to care for the dogs and keep the chalet secure.
  • Time off in lieu will be given for hours worked outside of the contractual hours.

Languages
You must speak English, and speak conversational French.

Special Skills
You should be confident with all aspects of housekeeping. You should hold a driver license and ideally be experienced driving on challenging mountainous roads (we can provide training if preferred). You should be fit and healthy with a passion for outdoor physical activities and dogs. You should love the snow!  You must have the legal right to work in the EU.
