A lovely, friendly family with two children (4yo and 20 weeks old) and two dogs in Jersey are looking for a new live in housekeeper to join their family home.
Background
The family currently live in Jersey and have just built a brand new large house in Jersey and have just moved in. The main house has 8 bedrooms (not all actively used), 3 stories, a basement and side cottage. They have a full time nanny for the children and two friendly dogs – a pug and a Springer Spaniel. The father works long hours and the mother is often away too.
Duties
You will be in charge of all the housekeeping and cleaning, including wardrobe management, laundry and ironing. On a day to day basis you will run errands like dry cleaning, post office etc, and drive where needed. The mother likes to go to the supermarket but you will assist her where needed, helping her in the kitchen too and making sure the father has dinner when he comes home. You will also be in charge of caring for, feeding and walking the dogs, and be comfortable with some childcare when the children are around and if the nanny has to take one of the children to an appointment.
Location/Accommodation
This is a live in role, you will be provided with a 1 bedroom apartment adjacent to the new build house. The property is furnished to the very highest of standards.
Days/Hours
Monday to Friday, 8-8:30-5:30. Every now and then you will be asked to help out with Sunday lunch (but quite rarely) and flexibility is key.
Languages
You should speak a good level of English.
Special Skills
You must have previous experience working in a private household as a housekeeper, be really organised, tidy and efficient with a happy and friendly personality. You must be able to drive. Previous experience as a hairdresser/cutting hair would be a plus, but not a must. You must be dog friendly and happy to be around young children and take on the occasional care for them. You must also hold a valid EU passport or ID and have the legal right to work in the UK/Jersey Islands.
Package Offered
£350-450net a week depending on experience. (£22K-30K a year)
