Two private households – one near Reading and one in Eton – are looking for a freelance, ad hoc private chef for dinner party and private bookings.
These are two busy households in Berkshire who enjoy entertaining and hosting small and large dinner parties and events. There is a large property in the stunning countryside near Reading, as well as a smaller cottage style property in Eton, on the river.
Exact duties will differ per booking, but both households enjoy organising dinners and parties for family and friends. This can range to a small intimate dinner for 4, to a large garden party with lots of food prep and outside grill/cooking. You should be comfortable working in a small, private setting as well as in larger set ups. There may also be some informal training day where you would be asked to teach full time staff some basic/additional cooking skills, so ideally you should be happy doing occasional workshops or teaching. You should be comfortable with presenting menus and serving food at the dinner parties.
A large property with large grounds near Reading, and a cottage in Eton. No accommodation will be provided for bookings. Therefore you should not live far away for commute and you should ideally drive as the Reading property is very rural.
Flexible, the families will let you know when bookings are required. This might be a weekday day time, or weekend/week day evenings.
You should speak a good level of English to communicate with the clients and the guests.
You should ideally be able to drive as especially the property near Reading is difficult to reach by public transport. You should have a track record of private chef roles, enjoy cooking for small and large groups and be passionate about cooking varied style of foods from small dinners to large buffet style food. Fresh, high quality ingredients are key.
