A professional couple who have recently re-located from Canada, are looking for an experienced housekeeper to work in a team alongside another housekeeper to manage and care for their extremely valuable home.
A down to earth couple with no children, they travel a great deal, and spend time in the UK in their new home in Cobham, Surrey. They have a much loved King Charles Spaniel dog. They have a substantial property (7 bedrooms) in Cobham which is nearing the end of extensive renovations. They have also built a two bedroom separate staff accommodation on the grounds. They have a yacht which they regularly visit during the year, and within the Cobham property they have a full time housekeeper who you'll be working alongside. They have external staff including three gardeners and pool maintenance men that come regularly to the property. They are a relaxed couple, but do enjoy the fine things of life and have an eye for detail. They also have another housekeeper who will be working alongside you. You will be working as an equal housekeeper team with House management duties and run the household together.
You will be in charge of the entire property, conduction all housekeeping and cleaning duties together with the other housekeeper. Your work should be to the highest level whilst the couple are in residence and when they are travelling. Your first duty will be care of the dog, particularly when the couple are not in the UK. The dog goes to doggie day care 5 days a week (for board and walking), but you would be there are night or keeping an eye when the principals are not in residence. Taking the dog to vet/grooming and ensuring it is fed on time. The property is your main area of focus, and as a large house, things can go wrong if not cared for. When the principals arrive back from travel, they expect the property to be aired, ready and fresh for their arrival. You will be expected to perform domestic duties to a high level, from housekeeping to a high standard, to cooking, flower arranging, laundry. For the cooking the family have an international cuisine and particularly love Asian food. You should understand managing and ensuring the home is like a 5* hotel, with turndown service, setting the scene, ambience, the correct level of lighting when the family return home.
This can either be a live out or live in role. If you are opting for the live in role you'll be provided with separate accommodation in the newly built staff building. You'll have your own bedroom and bathroom, with shared facilities (with the other housekeeper) of the kitchen and living room. The property is in Cobham, Surrey.
Typically Monday to Friday with weekends off, but you must be flexible to work weekends if the couple are entertaining or travelling, and then you'll be given days off during the week. Daily hours are 10am-7pm each day.
You should speak an excellent level of English. If you speak Italian or French this is a bonus as the principals also speak these languages.
You should have proven experience working for high end properties and be prepared to be fully vetted by the client for references, DBS etc.
- £450-600 net per week depending on experience. (Between around £29.500 - £41.000 annual gross.)
- Staff car will be provided if you do not have your own (and if you drive)
- Accommodation in the staff quarters
