A family based in Maida Vale, London, W9 are looking for an experienced Housekeeper to join their team. This is a live-out role.
Package Offered
• £45,000 - £52,000 a year, depending on experience.
Family Background
The family live in a beautiful property near Warwick Avenue Station. The home is filled with wonderful antiques and requires special care and attention. They have a two-year-old daughter who has a nanny, so no childcare duties are required though any nannying experience and the ability to step in if needed would be a bonus. Cooking is also a large part of the role as the family are looking for someone to cater for them as needed. The property is usually busy and requires a housekeeper who is well organised and able to work under their own initiative to help things run smoothly.
Duties
You should be professional and experienced as a housekeeper. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively help manage and run the household, be an excellent communicator and a proactive forward-thinking person. Whilst also keeping the property clean and tidy to the highest standards.
The role requires simple but nutritious cooking for the family, who particularly enjoy Mediterranean cuisine.
You must be and good team player and able to work constructively with the Nanny to ensure that family and property are looked after and all runs smoothly.
The home is full of antique items and furnishings so experience caring for expensive and antique items is a positive.
Daily duties to include:
- Cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, stairways, and other household areas
- Doing the laundry and organising the clothes.
- Polishing silverware, dishes, glass and other items that need to be cleaned but cannot be washed in a dishwasher
- Cleaning and sanitising furniture and other items that cannot be moved from their location
- Dusting shelves, blinds, baseboards, ceilings, windowsills, and other surfaces in the home
- Cleaning floors and carpets using steam or shampoo machines, where possible
- Cooking for the family, mostly for evening meals but also aiding in meal preparation as needed.
- Helping to serve and lay the table.
- The family employ a full-time nanny but you must be willing and able to help with the children if required.
The family also keep a property in Spain and enjoys staying there a few times per year. Usually for a month in the summer and then shorter trips during other periods. You would be required to travel with the family and be provided private accommodation on site.
