A VIP family who have a property on a beautiful island in the Ionian Sea, Greece are looking for an experienced Estate Manager to oversee their property. You must speak fluent Greek for this role.
Package Offered
- €65,000 - €85,000 gross per year.
- A relocation package can be provided.
Family Background
Located on a beautiful seaside property, a busy family are looking for an experienced long-term estate manager to oversee the property. The island is usually very busy in the summer, whereas in winter it is very quiet. The family are in residence 8 – 10 weeks of the year. The main property is a high-end home, consisting of 5 bedrooms and a small amount of cultivated garden terraces around the main house and cottage and a large wilderness garden and olive groves. The property took ten years to build, with many of the their current staff having been involved throughout. The family also have an experienced house manager, cleaner and an experienced gardening consultant running gardening team and are looking for the person to harness all the teams and manage the property as a whole.
Duties
When the family are in residence which is 8 – 10 weeks of the year it would be all hands on deck. Your role will be the Estate Management, managing the staff and ensuring that the house and gardens are ready and prepared by the respective teams to the highest standards for the arrival of the family. You will be the go-between for the principal and the staff, helping manage the entire team. You should be highly organised and efficient at your job and used to managing staff and multiple personalities
You should have a positive and discreet professional approach, and you should be highly flexible to focus fully on the needs of the principal and their family. From managing contractors, dealing with any problems, hiring and recruiting new staff, through to day to day running of the family estate.
You will prosper monthly reports combining your information with that collated of the House manager and Garden manager.
Location/Accommodation
The property is based on an island on the Ionian sea, Greece. Accommodation can be provided as part of the relocation package.
Days/Hours
- Working a 6 days a week, depending on the time of year
- Hours will change depending on the winter/summer months, you will work earlier in the summer and later in the winter. When the family are in residence the hours will be long and to be agreed with the family’s PA and estate manager.
- Working approx. 50 hours each week
Languages
You should speak and write a good level of English and Greek for this role.
Special Skills
You should have a proven background in your profession. You should be happy to take a senior role in the house, managing the entire team.
