A professional gentleman, based in Barry, CF62, Wales is now looking for a full-time Carer to work for him and assist him with his daily life. The role is live out and you must be able to commute easily to the property. Due to location, you must have a driving licence for this role.
Package Offered
- £40,000 - £50,000 gross per year depending on experience
- With additional package when travelling with the client
- If you are a qualified nurse this is a bonus but not required.
Client Background
Our client is looking for a new long-term member of staff to work for him. The gentleman has cerebral palsy and is looking for a discreet and professional carer to assist him with his daily life and personal care. The gentleman lives near Cardiff in a bungalow with his husband and small pet dog.
You should be happy to travel with our client for business and personal trips, he often visits London as well as Europe. Our client currently employs two personal assistants and is also looking to hire a chauffeur. Respect and flexibility is key.
Duties
The principal is a wheelchair user and has limited mobility. You should be confident in assisting him with all personal care, including stoma base care and bathing. You will assist him with his morning routine and provide support with eating and drinking, where needed. It is vital that you are aware of potential risks to the clients health, with a strong awareness of sepsis.
Our client is looking for someone who is dynamic and confident, who is happy to work with him as he conducts his busy schedule. He travels regularly for business and regularly works with VIP clients, so discretion is essential.
You should be confident with using hoists and being able to help support the principal physically and mentally with his complex care needs. The principal is very bright, and as such wants a carer who respects his working life, but can also support him with his personal needs.
You should be organized, clean and tidy and always willing to stay on top of duties in the household. You should be flexible and always happy to adjust to the daily needs of the job.
The principals work takes him into high profile situations so you need to be able to adapt to both formal and informal situations and represent the principal and his household.
Occasionally, when the clients husband travels, you will need to undertake some cooking. The principal enjoys home cooked family meals, gourmet cooking is not expected.
Location
This is a live-out role so you should be within an easily commutable distance to Barry, CF62, Wales
Days/Hours
- Working 8am – 6pm, from Monday – Friday
- Flexibility is key for this role, the principals schedule can change daily in accordance with his business calendar
- You must be happy to travel with the principal as needed, when agreed in advance
- Overtime will either be given as lieu or paid
Languages
You must speak a good level of English to communicate with the client and his family.
Special Skills
You should be an experienced carer, having worked with similar clients in the past. You should be professional, discreet, and adaptable.
