A single mother who has relocated from the USA to York in 2018, is in the restaurant business, and has three wonderful children. The twin boys attend full time nursery, and the oldest daughter attends full time school. The mother is very busy with work, and is keen to find a long-term member of staff to help her family, and be a valued member of family routine and life. Due to the industry she works in, she is often very busy, and although she is a very hands on mum, she is keen to find some flexible support for both her business and family life. They have a part time housekeeper who attends the property three times a week. They have no pets.
The role is caring and helping with the children, so you should love children and be confident with these ages. Mum is very hands on, but needs help with the busy times, with the evening routine, from getting their dinner ready, helping with the bath and bed routine. There is an option to do overnights, but if this isn't suitable, then it would just be evening support. There is no housekeeping, but you should be clean and tidy, willing to help out around the house and get stuck in to family life. You should also show a high degree of professionalism and respect confidentiality in the family life.
As this is a part time role, there is no accommodation provided. However if you do any overnight work, then accommodation would be provided.
Monday - Friday, 5pm - 9pm (4 hours each day). With option to do overnights a few nights a week (this is completely optional and if you choose to do it, you will be paid additionally)
You should also speak English to communicate with the family.
You should be helpful and pro-active, with a calm and considered manner.
