  • Overtime/Time off in Lieu for additional hours such as babysitting
  • Automatic car for work use if you do not have your own.

Family Background
A friendly family with 3 children, aged 12, 9 and 5 years old are moving into a new beautiful country estate. The older children attend boarding school, and the youngest will be going to a local school.  The property has large grounds, and animals, and therefore need additional staff to help care for the grounds, property and animals. They are keen to find a long-term and reliable domestic couple. You should be a team player and be looking for a long-term role. The family have a much loved black Labrador.

Duties
As a domestic couple the role will entail general housekeeping, laundry and ironing, errand running, dog walking and cooking for the family.  Organising groceries, shopping, and general housekeeping of the property. You will be required to help out with simple, healthy meals. You should be pet friendly, and able to help out around the house with daily life and routines. You will be responsible for looking after and walking the dog. You will also be required to help with some babysitting or proxy-parenting if the parents are away for work or travel, but the children are sweet and well behaved and quite independent.

The other aspect of the duties will include upkeep and general maintenance and gardening of the property and grounds.  You should be able to perform maintenance around the property and be a confident driver to help with driving duties, running errands and taking the children to school (when needed) – only one person in the couple needs to be able to drive – they will be responsible for running errands. You should be an outdoorsy person and be capable of grounds maintenance, mowing, hedge cutting, etc. You should have a can-do attitude and be able to work independently.  If you have additional handy skills such as carpentry or even electrics this would be a huge bonus, but a can-do attitude and someone who can easily figure out how to deal with household maintenance when required is key.

When the family travel, you will be in charge of keeping the property cared for and safe, and looking after the dog.  If the father is away on business, again you'll be the first point of call if there is an issue in the house (out of normal hours) so a degree of flexibility is required around this.  If the family have guests at the weekend then you may be asked to work, but you'll always get those two days back over the week, and the weekend work will be infrequent.  When the family travels for work, he is often away for a week or two, and you'll be on hand to assist with the mum and children and property should any issues crop up, and also to help with general security whenever required.

Location/Accommodation
The family is based near Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, CV36.  This is a live-in role and a private cottage on the grounds will be provided.

Days/Hours
  • Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 6pm.
  • One night of babysitting/'overnight stay' (in case the parents are away in London), but this won't always be used and will not roll over if they are not used.
  • With occasional weekend work when agreed in advance, these hours will be given as time off in lieu.
  • When the father travels (which is always planned in advance) you would need to have a level of 'on-call' to allow for any emergencies in the house (such as a broken pipe) for one of you to assist with, as the wife would be in the property with the children.
Languages
You must speak a good level of English.

Special Skills
You should be confident with all aspects of housekeeping and grounds and garden maintenance. One of you should have a driving license and an automatic car can be provided for any duties requiring a car if you do not have a car of your own.
