Package Offered

  • £30 - £50+ gross per hour. Negotiable depending on the candidate’s experience and commitment to the role.

Family Background

The family have three boys who are 4 and a half years old, 12 years old and 14 years old. The family also hires a housekeeper/nanny who looks after the home and nanny duties. They are a lovely, down-to-earth family and they have no pets in the household. Their youngest child has autism and the family currently work with a company providing support in the afternoon, however, they are keen to work with a candidate who can commit to the development and progress of their child, with continuity and support.

Duties

Your main focus will be to help the youngest boy with his speech and language. There are no duties related to the other children. The ideal candidate should be passionate about encouraging independence in the boy and creating a nurturing environment that encourages speech development.

You should be able to design and implement a personalised speech and language development program tailored to the child's needs and interests. Create engaging activities that promote verbal communication, vocabulary expansion, and language comprehension.

You should develop and execute a curriculum that aligns with the child's academic interests and abilities through creative and enjoyable activities. Encourage and support the child in developing independent skills for daily activities. Implement strategies to enhance the child's self-help skills and boost confidence in completing tasks on their own. You should have previous experience working with SEN children in this developmental area.

You should focus on preparing the child for school by introducing age-appropriate concepts and skills. Work on pre-literacy and numeracy skills to ensure a smooth transition to a formal education setting.

Plan and engage the child in fun and interactive activities that align with his interests. Incorporate games and play-based learning to make the sessions enjoyable and rewarding.
